Town / City Planning - Our Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) Status:
Kamekho Consulting supports BEE as an integrated and coherent social-economic process that will contribute to the economic transformation of South Africa and will bring about significant increases in the number of black people that manage, own and control the country's economy, as well as significantly decrease income inequalities.
Kamekho Consulting is an EME - Exempt Micro Enterprise, Level 3 with an annual turnover less than R5 million.
Although only recently established, the firm will attempt to support the broad based Black Economic Empowerment:
- Skills development: Referring to the development of core competencies of black people to facilitate their interaction in the mainstream of the economy, the firm is focussing on core and technical skills that would enable black staff member to participate in the wider economy. At this stage it is done by means of participation in workshops and seminars.
- Equity: The firm will always comply with the spirit and provisions of the Employment Equity Act to bring about an equitable representation of black persons at all occupational and skills levels in the organisation over a period of time. We will foster the active involvement of black people in the operational, professional and executive decision-making processes.
- Procurement: In contracting out work to other professionals, we strife to appoint other black emerging firms.
- Enterprise development: We will aim to assist and accelerate the development of the operational and financial capacity of small and medium enterprises owned and controlled by black people, by providing direct financial assistance to non-monetary support provided to entrepreneurial enterprises.
- Social responsibility: When involved in community based projects, we strive towards job creation and creating opportunities for training. In using temporary workers for short-terms projects, ie for surveys, we attempt using the unemployed sector of that community, making an effort to transfer skills meaningful.
